Palpatine is a Naboo politician who was a Senator on Coruscant at the start of the first campaign, was elected Chancellor of the whole Republic, and was eventually proclaimed Emperor. He's also a retired Jedi, and thus has the retired Jedi title Darth, and with it an honorary name, Darth Sidious, although he doesn't use the name much, nor does he make any secret of it. A man with a great deal of personal integrity, but capable of hiding secrets from others for the "greater good", he was manipulated by Anakin into ordering the complete massacre of the Jedi, an order he gave with the greatest reluctance. It's debated among the players whether he's really a bad guy or not.

The Phantasmal Malevolence[]

As the ship carrying Palpatine's Quenn, Padme Amidala, her entourage, the Jedi Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, the Gungan Jar Jar Binks. the droid R2-D2, and the Tatooine boy Anakin reached port on Coruscant, everyone was greeted by Senator Palpatine and Chancellor Valorum. Valorum came across as a raving lunatic, only speaking in bizarre non sequitors. As the Queen went to address the Senate to request aid for Naboo, Valorum refered in passing to the Jedi Council, and wondered what Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan had done on the negotiations with the Trade Federation Valorum sent them to Naboo for. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan decided to go talk to the Council.

Jar Jar talked with the Queen (and there are hints that it was the real Queen this time, not her loyal decoy), telling her that Palpatine still hadn't spoken to him about the Lost Orb he'd been seeking. The Queen admitted she didn't know why this was, since the Queen had talken to Palpatine about it, and that he told her he thought the Feds were using the Orb to power their orbital corporate headquarters on Naboo. Palpatine arrived and talked with the Queen about what they just experienced in the Senate. The Queen had been trying to address the Senate, but she kept getting interrupted by Valorum with his bizarre non sequitors. When the Queen mentioned that the Feds' droid armies had been killing her people, Valorum interrupted by saying people were such fragile beings and should all be made cyborgs under his command. Disgusted, the Queen called for a vote of no confidence against Valorum (Valorum called for ice cream). Palpatine now informed the Queen that the Senate had voted Valorum out of power and that a new Chancellor would be elected to give aid to Naboo. Jar Jar tried to speak with Palpatine about the Orb, but he was evasive. He warned the Queen that she would now be in danger from Valorum. Jar Jar suggested the Queen come back with her to Naboo, and the Queen agreed.

After Maul fought the Jedi, fatally wounding Qui-Gon and leaving Obi-Wan hanging precariously on a knob protruding from a deep shaft, he related in flashback on how Palpatine had hired Maul, and that Maul placed a "stooge" within the Trade Federation to spy on them. Palpatine got Valorum to send Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to negotiate with the Feds. But when Nute Gunray learned they were Jedi, he contacted Palpatine, accusing the Jedi of being spies. Palpatine tried to calm him down by telling him that if they were spies they'd be searching the Feds' base. And at that moment, Qui-Gon began searching the room he and Obi-Wan were in. This was why the Feds attacked the Jedi at the start. The Feds then launched their full scale invasion of Naboo. When the Jedi went to Tatooine with the Queen, Palpatine sent Maul to locate them. When he got to Tatooine, Maul sent the small spherical droid that Qui-Gon destroyed to locate them. Maul finally found them as they were leaving and approached them on his hoverbike. Maul tried to talk, but the others couldn't hear him over the roar of his hoverbike, and then Qui-Gon attacked and escaped on the ship.

After Obi-Wan killed Maul and the Trade Federation was defeated, everyone was back together at the palace when they were greeted by Palpatine, who had arrived on Naboo with Yoda and Mace Windu, and announced that he'd been elected Chancellor. He also casually mentioned that as a retired Jedi, he had the courtesy title of Darth Sidious. He warned, however, that Valorum had disappeared like a phantom, and may become a menace. Now that they had the Orb, Obi-Wan insisted on giving it back to the Gungans, and Palpatine reluctantly agreed.

Everyone was present for Qui-Gon's funeral, where his body was being cremated. Obi-Wan promised Anakin he would train him in the ways of the Jedi.

A big victory celebration was performed at the palace, where Padme formally gave back the Lost Orb to Boss Nass.

Silence of the Clones[]

Ten years later, the now Senators Padme and Jar Jar went to meet Chancellor Palpatine and the Jedi Council. Palpatine told them that there were two bills to be voted at the Senate: one for creating the Grand Army of the Republic, the other to create a new moon for Naboo. Palpatine also revealed that the plans for the new moon had been stolen.

At the Senate, the bill to create an armey was easily defeated. When the bill for making the new moon came up, some Separatists in the Senate asked if this couldn't be some evil plot to destroy them. Padme insisted that the moon would be a Peace Moon that the people of Naboo desperately needed. When one of the Separatists asked if the Moon would have any military applications, Padme began to contemplate outloud all the scientific ways this could be plausible, but was hastily interrupted by Palpatine who quickly called for a vote, and the bill was passed.

The next day, after Obi-Wan and Anakin were suspened for their reckless behavior while chasing the shapeshifter Zam Wessel, Palpatine sent for Anakin and tried to persuade him to get back in the Council's good graces. Anakin tod him he was no longer sure he trusted the Council, that Obi-Wan wanted to know why the Peace Moon plans didn't have any backups, mentioned the legend of the Sith, and brought up the possibility that anyone on the Council could be a shapeshifter.

On Coruscant, in the Senate chamber, Mace Windu asked Yoda if they were in time for Jar Jar's big speech. Yoda admitted that they Were. Jar Jar addressed the Senate. He revealed that the Seperatists had made a big droid army. With this meaning war, Jar Jar proposed that they give emergancy powers to Palpatine, much to Palpatine's surprise. The Senate heartily approved. With full Senate approval, Jar Jar now revealed they had a clone army that Palpatine could use.

Revelation of the Sith[]

When Palpatine was kidnapped by Count Dooku, Obi-Wan and Anakin came onboard Dooku's dreadnought to rescue him.

The lift Obi-Wan and Anakin were on finally reached its destination, and they found a room where Palpatine was tied to a chair. He revealed to them that he agreed to meet Count Dooku in secret, but when Dooku saw he was alone, he kidnapped him. Obi-Wan began to ponder why the Separatists seemed to be fighting each other, when they were confronted by Dooku.

R2 was still by the terminal at the hangar. Obi-Wan commented that Dooku must be working with the General Grievous that rumors had indicated was behind this attack, but Dooku only expressed surprise that Grievous was supposedly there and that the dreadnought was Dooku's ship. Dooku explained that he broke off from the Separatists after the Battle of Geonosis, and that he got Nute Gunray to give him back the Peace Moon plans, which Dooku intended to show to the Senate, but the Senate refused to see him, which is when he then kidnapped Palpatine.

Obi-Wan and Anakin were able to figure out that it was Dooku who led the ships that raided Coruscant and kidnapped Palpatine, but that Grievous had been sent by Gunray to go after Dooku, and that Grievous and his ships arrived just as Dooku's ships were about to leave. So the people of Coruscant thought they were seeing one giant fleet of Separatists led by Grievous, when it was actually two rival factions fighting it out with each other.

Anakin accused Dooku of being a Sith lord, and rushed forward to attack. He and Obi-Wan dueled with Dooku with their laser swords. Dooku broke off the fight and told them they could find proof of Palpatine's treachery by looking at the Peace Moon plans, which would show that Palpatine's plans would make the Peace Moon into a massive doomsday weapon. Obi-Wan ordered R2 to hack into the ship's computers and see if he could find the plans. R2 claimed the plans just showed an artificial moon made of rock, much to Dooku's surprise.

Obi-Wan and Anakin resumed their fight with Dooku. Dooku used Force Push to ram Obi-Wan into the only known railing in the Darths&Droids universe, causing Obi-Wan to fall over and land on the lower deck two meters below. Dooku then used the Force to causes the higher platfom to land on top of Obi-Wan. The combined injuries of Obi-Wan hitting the railing, landing on the lower deck, and having the platfrom land on top of him, caused him to lapse into unconciousness.

Anakin continued to duel Dooku. He used the dexterity of his artificial hand to slice off both of Dooku's hands. He now had Dooku at his mercy, holding both his own laser sword and Dooku's laser sword up to to Dooku's neck. Dooku claimed he had just realized that Gunray must have switched the Peace Moon plans, which is why R2 only saw an artificial moon made of rock. Anakin whispered to Dooku to trust him, and told him to say aloud that he was a Sith Lord and that there was another. Dooku did as he was asked, and Anakin used this as an excuse to kill him. Dooku had time to gasp out, "Non! Wait! Anakin, Ah am your f-" before Anakin decapitated him with both laser swords.

Anakin freed Palpatine, but told him he needed to inquire about the Jedi Council, that a Sith lord working with Dooku had clearly infiltrated the Council and used it to fund the clone army from Kamino and to plot the downfall of the Republic.

R2 pointed out the ship was taking an awful lot of damage. Anakin suggested he and Palpatine leave. Anakin wanted to leave Obi-Wan to die, but Palpatine wouldn't hear of it. He told Anakin to carry Obi-Wan, and that he, Palpatine, wouldn't leave without Obi-Wan. Anakin did as he said.

Anakin ordered R2 to hack into the gravity generators and to gently tilt the gravity 90 degrees, so that he and Palpatine with Obi-Wan could walk along the lift shaft. R2 tried to use his rocket thrusters to stay near the terminal, but he slid helplessly down the floor that was now tilted 90 degrees. Anakin and Palpatine, with Anakin carrying Obi-Wan, were making their way along the shaft, but without R2 at the terminal, the gravity soon righted itself to normal, causing them to fall. Anakin managed to grab onto a ledge while still carrying Obi-Wan, while Palpatine grabbed onto Anakin's foot. At that moment, Obi-Wan woke up. Anakin used a grappling hook to swing all three of them through an open shaft doorway, landing safely, albeit a bit bruised, on the floor.

R2 had landed in a pile of rubble. He used his periscope to see above the rubble. R2 became frightened and paranoid, and he bolted from the rubble and zoomed out of the hangar.

Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Palpatine were trying to make their way to the hangar when they get caught in a force field trap. R2 ran into them, almost literally, as in his panic he ran straight into a wall. Some combat droids arrived and took all them prisoner.

The droids took the prisoners to their leader, General Grievous. When Obi-Wan referred to Grievous' "droids", Grievous corrected him. Inside each of these casings was an organic brain, that the "droids" were actually Cyborgs. "Cyborgs. Under. My. COMMAND. Upon hearing this familiar phrasing, Obi-Wan realized that Grievous was the former Chancellor Valorum. Grievous claimed that old name no longer had any meaning to him. Valorum/General Grievous claimed he had ways to improve R2's robotic body. At first, R2 liked the idea until Grievous explained that his idea of improvement was a brain transplant. Grievous intended to give R2's robotic body Obi-Wan's cerebral cortex and Anakin's amygdala. R2 panicked, and tried to zap at Grievous with his ineffective shock probes. This provided Obi-Wan and Anakin with the distraction they needed to use Force Pull to retrieve their laser swords and destroy all of Grievous' Combat Cyborgs and Magnaguards present. Cornered, Grievous began a long, rambling, seemingly nonsensical monologue that ended with, "Air is for suckers." He then smashed a bridge window, and escaped out of it.

R2 was able to hack into the control systems and turn on the emergency shutters, saving everyone from being sucked out into space. Grievous' remaining minions evacuated the ship. Obi-Wan thought they should leave too, but R2 nixed that idea by jettisoning the remaining escape pods. R2 took control of the ship, ecstatic at having a dreadnought of his own to command. But as the dreadnought entered Coruscant's atmosphere, it snapped in half and the half they were on plummeted out of control to the earth below.

Anakin fired all their missiles downwards at point blank range, which would cause the explosion to cushion their landing. He tried it and it worked, but now their dreadnought half was speeding down a runway and wouldn't be able to stop before going off the runway. Anakin used Force Push to cause the dreadnought half to crash into a watchtower, bringing it to a stop.

At the landing, Obi-Wan, R2, Anakin, and Palpatine were greeted by a small crowd that included Mace Windu and C-3PO. Mace Windu berated them, revealing that their crash landing killed several people. Anakin claimed that they actually managed to save lives, and that thousands might've died if they hadn't landed the dreadnought like they did. Palpatine added that they did manage to rescue him, and Mace Windu was willing to drop the matter. Bail Organa informed them that the Trade Federation were about to invade Naboo again, but Obi-Wan, Anakin, R2, and 3PO were all distracted by the fact that none of them had any idea who Bail Organa was supposed to be. They had met him three years earlier, but since he'd done nothing important or memorable, they'd all forgotten him by this time.

Padme showed up and was quickly reunited with Anakin.

Anakin went to see Palpatine. He described to Anakin how he had recently contacted General Grievous and tried to negotiate with him, but with Valorum being Grievous, the conversation went nowhere. Anakin told him he should give Anakin supreme authority over the Jedi Council. Palpatine told him that the Council was independant of the Senate, so he couldn't do that. Anakin told him that as Chancellor, he could appoint one Jedi to the Council, and he should appoint Anakin. Palpatine claimed that no Chancellor had used that authority in hundreds of years. Anakin told him he needed to spy on the Council to find the Sith lord traitor in their midst. Palpatine finally, reluctantly agreed to appoint him to the Council, but refused to give him any special authority.

Anakin went to talk to Chancellor Palpatine, who was attending a Gungan ballet charity performance to aid the refugees from the Trade Federation's current invasion of Naboo. Anakin told him that in order to find the Sith traitor in the Jedi Council, he needed access to the Jedi Archives. Palpatine told him that access to those archives belonged to Mace Windu. Anakin pointed out that Windu had been acting like a total idiot. Palpatine conceded he had a point. Anakin told him that Obi-Wan was still suspicious about the Peace Moon, that he told Obi-Wan Grievous was on Utapau so that he'd go there, keeping Obi-Wan out of the way for awhile. He also told Palpatine that Obi-Wan had convinced the Jedi Council that Palpatine was hiding something, and asked Palpatine to imagine what the Council might be hiding. Palpatine agreed to give him access to the Jedi Archives.

Padme and a group of Senators confronted Palpatine and Anakin. Padme told Palpatine that she and her fellow Senators were going to overthrow the Senate, much to the other Senators' surprise. Palpatine suggested that would be unwise. Senator Jar Jar Binks, among the Senators, said he agreed with Palpatine.

Padme and her delegation were confronting Anakin and Chancellor Palpatine, but Padme declared that they were done talking and she and her delegation stormed out of the room. Anakin tried to convince Palpatine that either Yoda) or Mace Windu was the Sith lord in the Jedi Council, but Palpatine refused to listen to any more of his paranoia, and orders him out of his office.

Anakin crept up on Palpatine in his Chancellor chamber while the latter was looking at some Peace Moon plans. When Anakin revealed his presence, Palpatine hastily shut down the plans. Anakin told him that those plans Palpatine was looking at just now didn't look like the plans R2-D2 recovered. Anakin realized that Count Dooku had only stolen a copy of the Peace Moon plans, that Palpatine had backups, and the real reason Palpatine had wanted him and Obi-Wan to recover the plans Dooku stole was to keep Dooku from exposing them to the public. Palpatine pointed out that R2 had said the plans to the Peace Moon had shown it to be harmless. Anakin replied that was after Nute Gunray had erased the superweapon shown in the plans. Palpatine tried to deny that there was such a superweapon. Anakin called his bluff, telling him to then go ahead and show the plans he just shut down. Busted, Palpatine admited to the superweapon, capable of destroying an entire planet, but insisted it was only meant as a deterrent, never to actually be used. Anakin asked why he had kept this weapon a secret, and Palpatine said the Senate would never approve of it. Anakin pointed out that he was married to a Senator, and tried to use that fact to blackmail Palpatine into giving him control over the military to hunt down the Sith, but Palpatine refused. He tried to threaten Palpatine with his laser sword, but Palpatine stood by his principles. Anakin backed down, admitting he respected the Chancellor's integrity, and left. Palpatine commented to himself that it was no wonder the previous Chancellor went nuts.

After manipulating Mace Windu into going to arrest Palpatine for being a Sith lord, but then realizing that Windu was a brainwashed sleeper agent for Nute Gunray, Anakin rushed to Palpatine's office, where he found Mace Windu standing over Palpatine with a laser sword. Both men accused each other of being a Sith lord, and enlisted Anakin's help against the other. Anakin sided against Windu. Palpatine tried to attack Windu with Force Drain, but only got himself hideously scarred before he realized that he'd been using it in reverse. Windu pointed out that it wouldn't work anyway since Force Drain only worked on someone who was angry. Anakin accused Windu of being Nute Gunray's sleeper agent. Windu replied that that was not true, that was impossible. Anakin told him to search his feelings, he knew it to be true. Windu cried out a loud, "NNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Anakin sliced off Windu's hand with Anakin's laser sword. Palpatine figured that should probably make Windu angry, and attacked Windu with Force Drain successfully. As Windu writhed in agony under the Force Drain, he suddenly remembered that he had been brainwashed by Nute Gunray into being his sleeper agent, that Gunray was behind everything, the clone army, the Jedi Archives, Windu's apartment block. Windu asked them to tell the Jedi Council he was sorry for his failure, and then he fell through a window to the streets below. Palpatine began to worry that he made a terrible mistake. Anakin claimed this meant the entire Jedi Council was in on it. Palpatine pointed out that Windu just apologized. Anakin claimed it was for failing to kill Palpatine.

Anakin was now able to use the past events of the entire story to convince Palpatine that the entire Jedi, except Anakin himself, had been plotting Palpatine's overthrow. He told Palpatine they would need to use the Force to take control of the clone army to defeat the Jedi and the Trade Federation. Palpatine told him to take a legion of clone troopers to the Jedi Temple and arrest the Jedi there. Anakin wanted to kill them, but Palpatine insisted there might be innocents among the Jedi and that they each needed to be tried. Anakin conceded on this, but told him the Jedi out in the field couldn't be simply arrested by the clone troopers because the troopers' minds were too malleable. Palpatine reluctantly agreed to order the clones to kill the Jedi out in the field.

On Utapau, the Clone Troopers there were mopping up the Federation forces. Commander Cody handed Obi-Wan back his laser sword while Obi-Wan was riding his varactyl. Obi-Wan rode his varactyl up a cliff wall to cut off the Federation forces' escape route. At that moment, Chancellor Palpatine contacted Cody. Palpatine hemmed and hawed a bit before telling Cody that the Jedi had become a threat. Cody instantly believed him, and eagerly offered to kill the Jedi. When Palpatine reluctantly admitted that was what he wanted the clones to do, Cody enthusiastically agreed to do it. He called up to Obi-Wan on the rockface to tell him it had been an honor serving under him, then he blasted the rockface, causing Obi-Wan and the varactyly to fall a great distance into a pool of water. Cody was confident that no one could survive that, as Obi-Wan quietly climbed out of the pool.

Chancellor Palpatine addressed the Senate, with Padme among those in attendance. Palpatine related in flashback how Mace Windu and the Jedi he was with tried to arrest Palpatine, and how Palpatine was forced to resist with his laser sword.

Palpatine related how he killed the Jedi with Windu, but Windu gained the upper hand on him, when Anakin came to the rescue. Palpatine declared to the Senate that the Trade Federation organized a deep conspiracy within the Jedi Council to take over the Galaxy, and the Rebellion was just a smokescreen. (Senator Jar Jar Binks responded to this by saying, "Oh, muy-muy...") Palpatine revealed that he contacted Nute Gunray, demanding his surrender, but Gunray was smugly defiant, revealing how he was using Naboo to create his own Peace Moon. Palpatine pledged to the Senate that they would defeat the Trade Federation and retake Naboo, restoring peace to the Galaxy. Padme heartily approved.

Obi-Wan searched the Jedi Temple and concluded there were no survivors, but he did find a hidden panel containing memory marbles. Yoda expressed suspicion of Obi-Wan, telling him that Anakin warned Yoda about him. One memory marble showed Anakin slaughtering Jedi, and Yoda concluded Obi-Wan corrupted Anakin. Another memory marble showed Palpatine ordering Anakin to slaughter the Jedi. Yoda conceded that let Obi-Wan off the hook for now. Obi-Wan wanted to arrest Anakin, but Yoda wanted to go after Palpatine. They argued back and forth on it until they just decided to go their separate ways.

Palpatine contacted Anakin on Naboo. Anakin informed Palpatine of the deaths of all the Separatist leaders, and told him that Anakin now had control of Grievous' cyborgs, and he was going to let them continue building the Peace Moon. He suggested Palpatine take charge of the diplomacy while he crushed the last of the resistance. Or Palpatine could place him in charge of the diplomacy. Palpatine reluctantly chose the first option.

Yoda confronted Palpatine in the Senate chamber. They mutually accused each other, then Palpatine attacked him with Force Drain.

Yoda calmed himself, negating the Force Drain. He and Palpatine began their own laser sword duel.

Yoda and Palpatine continued their duel, but were too evenly matched. Yoda suggested they settle things in a civilized way, with EXTREME Force Arm Wrestling.

Yoda explained to Palpatine that EXTREME Force Arm Wrestling was just like normal Force Arm Wrestling, only they drop the things on each other. Palpatine dropped a Senate pod onto Yoda. Yoda dropped a Senate pod onto Palpatine.

Yoda dropped another Senate pod at Palpatine and declared himself the winner. But Palpatine jumped out of the way of the pod, and refused to go by the game any longer. He used Force Drain to attack Yoda's laser sword. Yoda dropped his sword.

Palpatine attacked Yoda with Force Drain, and pointed out how Anakin had warned him about the Jedi. Yoda retorted that Anakin had warned them about Palpatine. Yoda repelled the Force Drain, causing an explosive effect, pushing them apart, causing Yoda to fall and grab onto the edge of a Senate pod. As Palpatine started to lecture Yoda on the evils of the Jedi, Yoda realized that Anakin had also warned Yoda about Obi-Wan, and that that meant Anakin was the real enemy. He deliberately let go of the Senate pod and plummeted far below.

Yoda landed on the Senate floor and managed to sneak out. He contacted Bail Organa, who picked him up on Oragana's hovercar.

Several days had passed, and Naboo was starting to cool down, but Anakin was still alive despite having all his remaining limbs decapitated by Obi-Wan. Anakin used the Force to call out to Chancellor Palpatine to save him. Palpatine rescued him and took him to a hospital on Coruscant. Anakin panicked when he realized that Palpatine was turning him into a cyborg, and begged him not to do that. Palpatine sternly informed him that after all the suffering he'd caused, he deserved some suffering of his own.

Palpatine stood beside a person covered in black body armor that completely covered the person lying on a hospital platform. As the platform the person was lying on leveled the person to an upright position, Palpatine said, " Rise..." The person asked, "What... What have you done to me?" Palpatine replied, "I need a strong figurehead to control the military; you shall have the power you crave. Do not deny it; I have sensed it building in you. The midi-chlorians have supported your shattered body; they will help you grow strong again. But the military chain of command is very... traditional. You are now effectively a retired Jedi; you should adopt the "Darth" honorific." The person said, "I shall be known as... Darth Vader." Palpatine said, "I regret to say, your life support systems contain... measures to ensure your loyalty." Darth Vader asked, "What do you mean?" Palpatine answered, "You are too dangerous, too... reckless; you must learn control. Until you do, I shall be your master. Now, get me some tea." Vader yelled, "Noooooo!!!"

Palpatine introduced Darth Vader to Tarkin, who was supervising the construction of the Peace Moon. Tarkin complained that the droids and cyborgs were useless for this task, and requested the use of Vader's army. Vader granted the request, and Tarkin left. Palpatine complimented Vader. Vader replied Vader would kill Tarkin tomorrow.

The Enemy Let Slip[]

Darth Vader was on Vader's ship as Captain Needa told Vader in a broadcast message that nobody could survive in that asteroid field. Vader told him his ship could, and briefly Force-choked him as a warning. Admiral Piett approaches Vader and told Vader that Emperor Palpatine was trying to contact Vader. Vader told him to set up the call.

In Vader's own chamber, Vader received Palpatine's communication. Palpatine told Vader that Vader still hadn't learned control. He reminded Vader that he had dominion over Vader's life-support suit, and told Vader to kneel. Vader did so. Palpatine said he'd been having strange dreams of an insistent voice; a Force user. Vader told him it was Vader's daughter he sensed. Palpatine told Vader that it took a firm hand to exercise restraint. Vader told him restraint was for fools and Rebels. Palpatine lamented on how Anakin was to bring balance to the Force. Vader asked if there was balance. Palpatine told Vader, not yet, that Vader's daughter must learn restraint and become a Jedi. Vader said the Jedi were too weak, and that Vader would teach her new ways. Palpatine told Vader that Vader's ways were a blight, and that if Vader's daughter did not learn the Jedi way, she would become like Vader. Palpatine ceased communication. Vader grumbled that Vader bet none of the Rebels had to put up with crazy ex-Jedi.

Darth Vader was standing over Luke, declaring Vader was about to have revenge for the murder of Vader's son. Luke told Vader Obi-Wan never told Vader what happened to Vader's son. Vader said Obi-Wan told Vader enough, he told Vader Luke killed him. Luke told Vader, no, he is Vader's son. Vader said that was not true, that was impossible. Luke told Vader to search Vader's feelings, Vader knew it to be true. Vader yelled, "No! Noooooooooo...." for a very long time. Once Vader ran out of "ooooooo..."s, Luke told Vader that Vader couldn't kill him now since Vader was his father. Vader told him, no, Vader knew that really was impossible. Luke said he figured it all out: Princess was Vader's daughter adopted by Bail Organa and Breha Moon-Flower and raised on Alderaan, while Luke was Princess' twin brother, placed in the care of Owen and Beru Lars on Tatooine. Ergo, Vader was their father Anakin. He accused Vader of murdering his mother Padme. Vader told him, no, Vader was his mother. Luke was just confused by this and asked how. She begian, "Well, I loved Anakin very much and then..."

Vader claimed the Japor snippet Anakin gave Padme had special powers. Darth Vader said this was how Padme was able to survive for so long, like against the assassination attempt on the Coruscant landing platform, or the fight against the nexu. Vader added, as another example, of Padme's survival from dehydration and exposure on Geonosis. This was also how Vader was able to survive the system shock from being decapitated while in a psychic link with Luke. Luke asked what happened to Anakin. Vader replied that he was horribly mutilated and burnt on the lava field, so he died, obviously. To save Padme. Vader then related how Anakin didn't die immediately, that he suffered for days on the lava field where Obi-Wan abandoned him. In flashback, Anakin was lying on the lava field, calling out to Padme. Darth Vader related how as Padme she experienced her own funeral and tried to speak up. In flashback, Padme on her funeral bier called Sio Bibble a traitorous wretch, and accused him of selling out to the Feds just to save his own sorry butt. Bibble started to defend himself from the accusation than stopped, and apologized, saying he thought he heard someone say something.

Vader related how the next thing she knew, she was encased in the full black body armor and helmet, with Palpatine saying, "Padmé... Rise..." Vader asked, "What... What have you done to me?" Palpatine replied, " I need a strong figurehead to control the military; you shall have the power you crave. Do not deny it; I have sensed it building in you. Anakin was a hero of the Republic; but sadly he was too far gone." Vader asked, "He's d-d-... dead?" Palpatine replied, " I transfused his midi-chlorians into you; they will grant you Force powers. The midi-chlorians have supported your shattered body; they will help you grow strong again. But the military chain of command is very... traditional; they won't accept a female leader." Vader asked, "They will assume... I am Anakin?" Palpatine answered, "Yes. You must maintain the illusion that you are now effectively a retired Jedi; you should adopt the "Darth" honorific." Vader replied, " I shall be known as... Darth Vader." Palpatine said, "I regret to say, your life support systems contain... measures to ensure your loyalty." Vader asked, "What do you mean?" Palpatine answered, "You are too dangerous, too... reckless. You must learn control. Until you do, I shall be your master. Now, get me some tea." Vader replied, "Sigh, very well." Palpatine added, "One sugar." Vader answered, "Yes, yes." Palpatine added, "No milk. A slice of space pear." Vader yelled, "Noooooo!!!"
